Art is creation. A painting – decoration. Like a nice landscape for your living room to go with your decor.
Art is giving birth to something new. It is what it is. It is a child. No child is ugly or without value. I am part of the process only. I do not make or create the work. I facilitate its arrival. Maybe you will like it in your living room, maybe it is uncomfortable to have around. Art stimulates, disturbs and should. Art brings light into our darkness so our understanding grows and deepens. It engages. It is a dialogue both during AND after creation.
You don’t bring a child into the world to go with the furniture.
A child enters the world, becomes a part of it AND acts upon it, changing it.
