Art is the physical manifestation of Truth. Many times we know what is true, but are afraid to say. Or we have insight, a flash. This needs to be expressed and shared so others can receive it.
Art is the leading sharp edge of the human race.

And sometimes we discover the Truth for ourselves in the process of making Art.

Can truth be transferred, or does it only exist in the artist’s mind?
I don’t think truth can be transferred. Truth is inside each of us and we must open to it. Then we receive “AH HAH!”. I include education. There is no one single truth. What is true for me, may not be for you and vice versa. Some truths are of course more universal. When the artist paints his/her truth – then it is art, not just a painting. Viewers may or may not be touched.
I believe art, in whatever form – image, music, words – is a bridge. What you perceive may be completely different than my perception or intention in my work. But when a painting touches you, positively or negatively, then some truth in you, has been touched and the light is on. You could not have that realization without the work of art. So it is a bridge from within the artist to within you. The foundations on each side are quite different.
Art helps us ‘see’ more. Art develops new ways of seeing, necessarily shaking people out of their complacency.
Does anything exist outside of our minds? Is the entire physical Universe a projection originating from some black hole?
If you phone me and say you’re bringing over some beer, I am confident I’ll be drinking what I think of as beer when you show up. So I’m sure there’s an objective universe. However, how we perceive it, evaluate it and our subsequent choices are in our minds.
Our universe, and certainly the life we’re living, is almost entirely a result of our choices. So personal and inter-personal reality is continuously being created.
