Bottom right I see an alien…..to the left of him, a rising submarine…..above that, 2 whales, one black, one white…..to the left, a blue surfer dude…….above that, a woman diving into the ocean….to the right of her, a womans face wearing a mask or a scarf over her eyes……..above that, a fedora….and on the far top right, a dove with its back turned……
Perception is in the ‘eye of the beholder’……????
Or is it?
What do we ‘project’ into these images from our own subconscious? Are those subliminal messages just an echo of our subconscious, or do they reveal a deeper truth within us. An ‘individual’ truth.
Which begs the question – “What is truth?”….and even, “why is my perceived ‘truth’ different to your ‘truth’, even though we grew up with similar cognitive cues and clues. Maybe it’s just the projection of our perceived cognitive cues relative to our environment?
Is it like trying to explain the colour blue to a blind person?
Who is blind? The one who is unable to see, the one who can’t see, or the one who won’t see?
Each person will see a painting in their own way. At different times, the same person will experience it differently, ‘see’ more. I think a work of art is a bridge. The art helps the viewer become aware of unknown parts of themselves, and the world around them. There is a paradox of choice here. See this.
