I did this in a class at the Ottawa School of Art. We copied a famous painter, I don’t remember who. The instructor trashed me and my painting because I didn’t draw it first. I just started with areas of colour and kept working it, allowing my feeling and spontaneity to flow. He was uninspiring to say the least. I kind of like this though, there is a spiritual quality.
