A student of mine came back from his vacation in the middle east and told me how wonderful it was and how he felt being by the Dead Sea. Lovely weather and scenery and so full of history. His story inspired me to paint this. I painted it semi-abstractly to express the dream-like quality and honour the memory of his experience.
