After I realized I could paint, I took a couple of art classes. They helped me a lot to understand what I was trying to do and how to do it. This was an exercise in glazing. We did a monotone painting then added many many layers of transparent colour. I like this one, it shows best under strong light. It is a religious person who is tortured for his faith.
